How It Works

Your evening, thoughtfully planned

From the first conversation to the last course

Chef Trish brings a personal chef experience to your home in Connecticut or Rhode Island, with a menu created around your gathering and all food cooked on-site. From an intimate private chef dinner party to a larger celebration, each detail begins with a conversation.

Our chefs and stewards take care of the preparation and service, giving you time to enjoy the occasion with your guests. Here is what to expect as we plan your event together.

Tell us about your gathering

Share your date, location, guest count, and the kind of occasion you have in mind. We will discuss your favorite flavors, dietary needs, and preferred dining style, from small plates to a formal seated dinner.

Create your menu and reserve your date

We will work with you to plan the menu, service, and timing for your event. Once the details are agreed upon, a 50% non-refundable deposit secures your date.

Welcome us into your kitchen

For a typical dinner, we arrive two hours before dinner begins and take over the kitchen to prepare your meal on-site. Our standard visit is four hours; larger groups, cocktail parties, and other event formats may require more time. The stewards assist with preparation and table setting; decorating remains with the host.

Enjoy dinner with your guests

Our chefs and stewards handle cooking, plating, serving, wine service, and the dishes. We keep the kitchen as clean as possible while we work and make every effort to leave it in the best possible condition. Drinking glasses still in use when we leave may remain for the host to clean.

Planning the details

Wine and cocktails

Alcohol is not included, but we are happy to serve what you provide. Wine pairing suggestions are available upon request at no additional fee. Bartending service is also available.

Equipment and tableware rentals

We will discuss your kitchen, dining area, and any equipment or tableware rental needs as part of planning. We offer consultation and guidance; clients pay the rental company directly.

Before We Arrive

About five days before your event, we send a friendly reminder with the final details. Preparing the kitchen and confirming parking in advance helps us give you and your guests the best possible experience.

Prepare your kitchen

Please have the following ready before our team arrives:

  • A clean kitchen, with clean sinks and counters.
  • Empty trash and recycling cans.
  • An empty dishwasher.
  • Ovens cleared of any items stored inside.
  • Space in the kitchen refrigerator for ingredients and, when applicable, desserts and charcuterie platters.

We need access to the refrigerator in the kitchen while preparing and cooking your meal, even if other refrigerators are available on the property.

Rental and seasonal homes

Please check that the home has cleaning supplies available before your event. We bring dish rags, but do not supply other cleaning products.

Provide dish soap, dishwasher detergent, paper towels, sponges, suitable cleaners, and replacement trash bags so we can wash dishes, run the dishwasher, and clean the counters and stove.

Food you provide

You are welcome to provide your own pre-meal appetizers or desserts. Please note that we do not serve or clean up food that is not brought on-site and prepared by our team.

Parking and access

You are responsible for reserving at least one on-site parking space for the chef’s vehicle, close to the house or building, for the entire event time block. All staff vehicles, including the chef’s vehicle, must be able to leave without being blocked in.

Our team may arrive in multiple vehicles. Other staff can use on-street parking, public garages, or local carpooling arrangements. Please tell us about any parking restrictions in advance so we can plan accordingly.

The on-site parking requirement also applies to city residences and rental homes. Any chef or staff parking costs will be added to your proposal as a flat fee.

A typical evening

With the preparations in place, our standard four-hour visit might look like this:

  1. 3:30 PMArrival and preparation
  2. 4:30 PMCocktails
  3. 5:30 PMDinner begins
  4. 7:30 PMService concludes

This is an example schedule. We confirm the timing and length of your visit during planning.
